Moe Shrevnitz

A small but keen man, Moe ran his own taxi in New York City. One night some thugs attempted to take his cab and kill him. The Shadow appeared and settled that matter. Sometime later, Vincent asked Moe to join The Shadow's organization and he accepted. (CHINESE DISKS).

Shrevnitz was an excellent driver who knew his way about the city very well. His major task was transportation. Up until his entrance, The Shadow had to use either Stanley or some chance cabby for his work. This was very expensive and unreliable, so The Shadow expanded his operations to include Moe.

His top priority was to take The Shadow and/or the agents to various destinations as quickly as possible. He sometimes had to chase cars, lose those chasing him, and always be ready to get caught in a battle. Moe was a cool customer and never lost his nerve. He was also assigned to pick up suspects by any means he could devise. He would then use a hidden tape recorder or microphone to hear their conversations, and also learn where they went. His job did not include fighting but if needed, he could be useful even in that. In later tales, to please radio fans, he was called Shrevvy. But unlike the radio character, he was not a stooge.
