Herein you will find reviews of all 325 of the old Shadow pulp mysteries. The reviews are all based on the original pulp magazine stories, not from the edited paperback reprints. They were not written in order; that is to say, they did not follow the original publication order. They were written as I read them, which was a fairly random order. Review dates are included to clarify the timeline.

Each pulp review begins with the story name and number, magazine volume and number, the date of the magazine, the date the story was submitted to Street and Smith along with the title if different from the final published title, and the author's name. For the vast majority of novels, the author was Walter Gibson.

There was a new series of Shadow novels published in paperback beginning in 1963. These weren't pulp reprints; they were entirely new stories. Only the first was authored by Walter Gibson, the others were written by Dennis Lynds and portrayed The Shadow as a totally different character. For that reason, only Gibson's novel is reviewed here. And reviews of Gibson's last two Shadow mysteries, which were short stories, are included here as well.

Yes, I've read all 325 of the original Shadow magazine stories. You may envy me for having read them all. But actually, I envy those of you who haven't. I've read them all and have no more new Shadow mysteries to read. You, on the other hand, do. I envy you the upcoming thrills. Perhaps these reviews will help you pick out your next story. They may help you select one best suited to your tastes. Or they may be of assistance in avoiding a story not to your liking.
